The good news is... I'm getting art done.. Depression does that to artists.
Hope everyone's doing well!

This week's been mostly miserable. I've been fighting an old enemy.. depression. Seems my demons have started catching up with me, while a certain angel is slipping further away.

I've been working my ass off this week, getting prepped for Coastcon 33!
I've got some framed, signed & numbered Limited Edition prints I'll be bringing... and they'll be sporting reasonable prices. These pieces will have additional elements not in the original works, and the print-run is very small. And... if you come out to the Con and tell me you read this blog and buy one of my Small regular prints, I'll give you a 2nd one free! Hope to see you there! I'd like to thank Scott and the gang at 3 Alarm Comics... I had an awesome time Saturday! It was great to see old friends, and to make new ones... You guys rock!
It's pouring rain right now, cold, and the wind is giving the street signs hell!.. Yeah, I'm sitting in my car, on the laptop! I'm gearing up for Coastcon this weekend.. Got some Limited Edition stuff stuff I'm bringing out. Cheers, gang! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=262187808933&ref=nf
Here's a link to the event at 3 Alarm Comics... It all starts at noon! First of all, congrats to my dear friend, and Guardian Angel (you've been slacking!) Janice and her husband David on their adorable new baby girl!
It's been a very difficult week for me. I've been on a downward spiral, and I fear I may be becoming a borderline alcoholic. I'm more than a little afraid. I'm trying to prepare for the weekend, going to be appearing at 3 Alarm Comics with other artists. Hopefully I'll be able to keep myself together, and keep the wolves at bay! Hope everyone is well! This is a work in progress.. Don't even have a title yet! It's been a very long day.
I'm gearing up for the weekend... Saturday I'll be at 3 Alarm Comics in Ocean Springs, selling prints and signing autographs with a bunch of other cool artists. So, come on out and say hi!... I believe the party starts around noon! Then, it's on to Coastcon the next weekend! Gotta get all my duckies in a row (yeah, I said DUCKIES... Big retarted duckies with the paws of cats and the tails of possums)! Anyway, hope everyone's week has started well! Last night was a bit rough, and there's only a few things I remember. I went through over half a bottle of Rum. I got drunk and text the girl I'm hopelessly in love with. I don't really know what I said to her, and I'm not sure I'll ever hear from her again... Really not sure of anything, except for the fact that I'm in love with her, and she's the only real happiness I have in this world.
I bought Joe Hill's new novel Horns the other night. Joe always rocks! I hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend. I'm begining to re-vamp this website a bit, not too much of a difference though.
It would appear that one of the cons I'll be appearing at soon has me listed in an amateur catagory. It's a bit amusing, and a bit annoying. But I'll try to be a little professional about it and shrug it off with a grain of salt. This is the first year I'll be attending as a Guest, and it is one of my favorite conventions. Cross your fingers, I'm in the running to be in Spectrum: The Year's Best Fantastic Art this year! Hope everyone's having a great week! Hope everyone's having a wonderful Valentine's/Joe Caine Day! This has been a lonely day for me for about 8 years now, but I'm keeping myself occupied with art.
Saw the movie The Wolfman last night with my best friend Oliver, and we both agreed that the film wasn't what we'd hoped it would be; just didn't live up to our expectations. It seems Hollywood wants to focus on effects more than story. And they continue to aim movies at teen audiances, and seriously, are today's teens just interested in scares and gore? Come on, if you're going to spend millions (and make us spend millions at the box-office), put a little more thought into a storyline! Anthony Hopkins seemed a bit bored in his role. The film was entirely too predictable, especially when they were telling you each and every little detail, leaving nothing to the imagination, no plot twists, no mistery whatsoever! And yes, I am a bit too critical... but I think it's about time we all be!!! |
