  Hope everyone's New Year is off to a good start!
  2014 was a very wonderful year for me. I got to work with my favorite author, Joe R. Lansdale. I got to see my art published in Fangoria magazine. And so many other incredible things happened!
   In September I attended Fear Fete, one of my new favorite conventions. Hung out with so many cool people, including my awesome assistant Amanda Todd, actors Tyler Mane (Rob Zombie's Halloween), Tony Todd (Candyman), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma), and most of the cast of Pet Sematary. Thank you, Brad Greenquist (Victor Pascow) for liking and buying my art!!!
   In November I met the girl of my dreams, who is just too incredibly gorgeous to be hanging out with this guy. She inspires me in so many ways, and has a beautiful voice to go along with her beautiful smile! I'm very blessed!
  Currently working on another cover for Joe Lansdale, numerous book covers and commissioned work, and a very special project with Michael Moorcock!

  It's been awhile.
  Pensacon was probably the most fun I've had a a convention thus far. I took smoke breaks with Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), ate hotwings with Tony Moran (Michael Myers from the original Halloween), drank with John Dugan (Grandpa from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) and Comics legend Mark Texiera. And there were so many other wonderful Guests, friends and fans!!!
  I met my favorite author, Joe R. Lansdale, who I'll soon be working with.
 
  Jumping ahead to the now..
  About three weeks ago I recieved what I'll refer to as a 'gift'. I won't go into great detail, but let's just say someone made a promise to me years ago, and she fulfilled that promise and reached out to me hours after her death in a car wreck. It has changed me.

  This morning I recieved the news of artist HR Giger's passing. He's always been an incredible inspiration, and it grieves me to know he's gone.
  Another incredible artist who greatly influenced me, Patrick Woodruff, has also passed away.

  I'm beginning to feel older.

  Oh, big news (well for me)!!! One of the books I've done the cover art for will have a full page add in Fangoria magazine next month!!! I've loved Fango since I was a teen, and the thought of my art being in that fright rag is just awesome!!!!

It's been awhile.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!!

In September I went down to New Orleans with Scott Hoverman and friends
from 3-Alarm Comics.
We attended the Mad Monster Partygras at the Sheraton Hotel. My old buddy, Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, 1973) was there, and I met Bill Mosley (The Devil's Rejects), PJ Soles (Halloween),
Roddy Piper (They Live), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and many other cool folk. My buddy Sid Kuhn and I rode in an elevator with Tommy Flanagan (Braveheart), and Tommy and I had a short conversation which was hilarious! Tommy
later photo-bombed Ron and I.
It was so much fun, we all went back the next day. I got my pony-tail playfully fondled by Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare On Elm Street), and spoke briefly with John Kassir (voice of The Crypt-Keeper).. Fun stuff!

I've been staying busy, but I never feel like I get enough accomplished!

In October, I stepped back into a recording studio again after about ten years and recorded vocals on a song called 'If I Die' with rapper Dino.
I'm very satisfied with it, and it was fun! We're supposed to be filming a video
soon.
I'd been wanting to return to music for some time, and that was a wonderful experience. Musically, I don't know what's next. But I know my art comes first and foremost!

It's been awhile since I've written one of these.
I've been trying to stay as busy as possible.
At the end of May, I quit my day job because I just couldn't afford to work there anymore. For five years they refused to take out taxes on me, and so I owe about $5,000 dollars in back taxes.
I'd already found another job, but after only a week of working there, they ran out of hours to give me. It was only part-time, and all I asked for was fifteen hours a week.
Then, on July 15th, my father died after having heart surgery.
I've managed to remain strong for the most part, though the pain does catch up with me. There are those little things that grasp my heart and remind me that I'll never see my dad again.. Not in this life.
But I'm ok.
My father when through a lot over the years, dealing with so many health problems, including recovering from a stroke last year. He had undergone so much pain.. So now I can somewhat rest with the faith in knowing that he's ok, too.
As of late, my faith in myself faulters a lot. In spirit, I'm a successful artist. Financially, I'm a complete failure.
But I continue onward, not knowing what tomorrow will bring, hoping what I've hoped for years.. That all the beauty I've known in the past will somehow be reflected in the future.

I don't know how long it'll be before I get around to writing another one of these posts.
I'm going to stay busy.

  Next weekend I'll be back in Biloxi for Coastcon with a bunch of other very talented people, so come out and say hi!
  Looking forward to meeting Adrian Paul, who I personally believe saved the Highlander franchise. Also looking forward to seeing familiar (and unfamiliar) faces, friends old and new!!!
  As always, I'll have the incredibly talented Oliver Twisted with me, so there'll be lots of entertainment at the table!

  I've been keeping busy! I believe before this year's end I'll have hit the 30 mark on book covers I've done!
  Currently working on interior illustrations for this:

  You know, one of the reasons I turned to digital art was because I suspected that as I get older my hand would get a little shakier, or there would be Arthritis, etc, so digital would help alieve some of the stress. And it does! I'm left-handed, and I do digital with my right hand. Well, about 8 months ago I began noticing my left hand would just fall asleep while I'd be drawing, and about 4 months ago it started to become more periodic. I thought it was just poor circulation, so I began taking vitamins and went on a diet. Didn't help! Started feeling pain from it at night. So I began to suspect Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I googled it and sure nuff, all the symptoms!!!
  So, I now where a wrist brace almost 24/7. I can still draw, but have to allow myself many breaks between doing so. I doubt it will ever get any better, but I'm hoping it won't get any worse!!!

  I was lazy over the holidays, but I've got some exciting projects in the works!!!

  Congrats to Oliver & Michelle Tilley, my best friend and my soul-sister, who tied the knot in a traditional Scottish Wedding ceremony earlier this month!!!
  Saw the movie Lincoln Friday night, and was very impressed with Daniel Day Lewis' portrayal of the role. From the very beginning of the film he was Lincoln. And then, of course, I went home and watched some of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, something with real historical events!!!! Lol
  Last night I watched the film The Donner Party. I layed there in bed with the heater on, wrapped in blankets, and nearly froze watching this movie. And even though I had eaten more than I should have for supper and was full, I nearly starved watching this movie. And it didn't help that I've been sick the past few days!!!

  I know. I know... It's been too long, gang. And there's no excuse.
  But recently I've been sick (for about 2 months now), and I'm still sick. I spent 4 days in the hospital, and the doc said it was Walking Pneumonia, and a bit of this and that. He couldn't tell me why I was coughing so bad I would pass out. I did my own research, and discovered that what was happening was that there was so much mucus built up in my chest that when I'd try to cough it up it would cuy off the air flow in my throat and sinuses, and my body would panic (which I first thought were seizures), then I'd pass out. Friends tell me I go out for only a few seconds, but it could be days the way it feels. Basically, I would drown, and I'd do this about 6 or 7 times a day.. Scary stuff!!!
  But I thought I was getting better. Almost 2 weeks without coughing and passing out. But last night my throat starting hurting, and I coughed and passed out about 3 times. Oh, well.
  In the midst of being sick, my life was going wonderful. I had a beautiful woman by my side who treated me wonderfully, and whose parents would've been the greatest in-laws. But she walked away. I still am not sure I understand the reasons.
  I tried to stay busy, though.
